A special experience to wear authentic samurai armor reproductions (including those of famous figures like Date Masamune) at Shiroishi Castle, one of only five wooden castle reconstructions in Japan. Staff assist with dressing and provide historical context. Guests can take photos freely both inside and outside the castle, with an optional professional photography service available.

Plan Details

Enjoy a special samurai armor experience at Shiroishi Castle, one of only five wooden castle reconstructions in Japan. Authentic armor meticulously crafted by skilled artisans is provided, along with traditional undergarments and tabi socks for a truly immersive experience. This is a rare opportunity to wear samurai armor both inside and outside a real castle — an experience unique to Shiroishi Castle. Step into the world of samurai warriors and feel the spirit of history as you become a Sengoku warlord for a day. A professional photography service is also available upon request.

Course Details

1. Reception & Orientation (Approx. 5 min)
Upon arrival, staff will handle your registration and provide an explanation of the day’s schedule.

2. Choose Your Armor (Approx. 3 min)
Select your preferred armor from five available types. Authentic reproductions modeled after the armor of famous samurai such as Date Masamune, Katakura Kojūrō, and Sanada Yukimura are also available.

3. Armor Dressing (Approx. 20 min)
Our staff will assist you in putting on the armor. During the dressing process, you will hear stories and historical background about the samurai whose armor you are wearing.

4. Photo Session (Approx. 10 min)
You are welcome to take photos and videos freely with your own camera. Our staff will also guide you on posing like a true samurai warlord.
Optional: Professional photographer service is available upon request.

5. Experience Ends
After removing the armor, the experience concludes. You are free to leave from the site.

Other(Notes)

•On the day of the experience, please be sure to follow all instructions given by the staff.

  • Please avoid wearing skirts (as the leg armor cannot be attached) and tank tops or shorts (to prevent direct contact between bare skin and the armor). We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy movement.
  • After arriving at the site, you will change into traditional Japanese garments. Please prepare to wear light, thin clothing on your upper body for easier changing. We also recommend plain innerwear in white, navy, or black, and ask that you avoid patterned items.
  • Details of the professional photography option are shown below. Photos will be delivered via Google Drive.
